Although not especially effective but oh so extremely fun and exciting are those electronic screen bug zappers... :)
- Once, during prohibition, I was forced to live for days on nothing but food and water.
- I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time'. So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.
- I'm not saying my wife's a bad cook, but she uses a smoke alarm as a timer.

Might try a Purdy over and under. That with a six pack make a fun evening.

Citronella candles - the big ones in buckets - or citronella torches, always worked for us.
They're really rockin' on Bandstand.

do you have a pool?
if mosquitoes are a problem, you need to eliminate as much standing water as possible on your property--if it's very rainy and your lawn tends to be boggy, that might contribute--check outdoor potted plants etc and make sure they're draining. don't keep buckets of water standing. citronella and bug zappers can help, but try to prevent your yard from being a hospitable breeding ground, if possible.
