Clumping pine litter: decent odor control but tracking is terrible - i even got a small hand vacuum cleaner and keep it permanently in one of the bathrooms.
Before i tried paper, corn and pine cat litters - all of them either have an odor (i clean boxes twice a day) control problem or tracking or even both.
While in Petco recently i noticed CitraMax which is made of orange rinds - has anybody tried it? i found mixed reviews on the web.

I use those little white crystal ball things. Don't know what my cat uses.

Helena, why in Hobbies & Crafts? Kitty litter seems an uninspiring medium for a woman of your gifts.

Is it the Feline Pine that tracks? We get a little scattered around the litter box, but it doesn't seem to migrate beyond that.

Haven't tried the CitraMax.

I need to replace litter in one of the two boxes once a day - the only downside of having great big cats (unless you count sitting on my chest at 3 AM).

My cat has a pristine clean cat box going on 2 years now. She also has a door.

Replace litter? Why not get clumping litter? Every day, I scoop out the clumps and get rid of them. Leaves a completely clean litter box. Every few days, I add some litter to replace what was clumped and removed. And when the need arises, I change the whole thing - it's in a drawstring liner, which makes the whole thing very easy.

I use Low Track Ever Clean. Very little tracking, good clumping, no problems.

No, it's not. I scoop the poop and flush that (it's just poop after all), but I don't flush the pee clumps. I keep small plastic bags near the box, put the clumps in the baggie, seal the baggie, and throw it in the big trash.

Most clumping litter isn't flushable - if it clumps well, it basically means that it's forming little pieces of cement-like substance (well, cement that isn't quite hard yet), and you don't want that in your plumbing system.

Ever Clean is the best litter I've ever used - totally odor controlling. I get the extra strength, low track one.

You can also get a litter mat. These are mats you put next to the litter box, so that when the cat jumps out, the step on the mat and whatever is on their paws, stays on the mat.

Yes, every time I have the temerity to think I own a cat, I realize who scoops whose poop!
