Dee and I usually visit this harbinger of Spring every other year. The Pennsylvania Convention Center is converted into an enormous floral extravaganza, with dozens of large exhibits, some of which are probably two thousand square feet.
Trees are brought in, mock courtyards created, and public service entities like the Friends of Fairmount Park, and the Zoo have space. Many of the more interesting exhibits are done by local designers, and include exterior and interior landscaping. Many courtyard designs, waterfalls, tiered plant walls, etc The rose people have their exhibits, the orchid people have a number of areas, among others.
Most days have several food presenters. Jack McDavid of Jack's Firehouse, and other local chefs run workshops, which are typically demo sessions with an opportunity to taste and buy a cookbook, etc.
The PCC is located behind the former Reading Terminal, which is above the current Reading Terminal Market. It's very convenient to the Market East Septa train station, and thus to the Amtrak system.
The Marriott hotel is across the street, and several of Philadelphia's excellent restaurants are within a long walk / short cab ride.

My only complaint was that if they need to charge me $30 because they're robbing the duck to pay the boar they might as well give me a more substantial portion of flour, water, and bits of meat.
