D'Artagnan, the specialty foods distributor, has a sales position available for an aggressive person. The ad reads very well, and D'Artagnan has a sterling reputation as a quality provider of meats, cheeses, and other specialty food products.

Current accounts and you build a territory in the NY area. Benefits, 401(k). I'm guessing comp is an advance against commissions and service fees.

QUOTE
This position is not a typical sales position. Strong food knowledge and management experience in four-star restaurants and/or hotels is a minimum requirement for this position, sales experience is not.

If you fill this position, you will work with the region’s top chefs on a daily basis and must be familiar with their high expectations and requirements. Both front and back of the house candidates will be considered based on the individual’s experiences.

To be successful in this position you must possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and both a passion for and knowledge of gourmet food. You must be detail oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, tenacious and creative without being overbearing, and possess strong communication and presentation skills. You will be joining a results-driven team of dedicated industry professionals with a strong passion for perfection.

While fundamentally a sales position, this position also has direct influence in areas of logistics and other operational needs. Person will service a portfolio of existing territory accounts, but the primary focus will be to build new accounts in this quickly expanding territory.

My only complaint was that if they need to charge me $30 because they're robbing the duck to pay the boar they might as well give me a more substantial portion of flour, water, and bits of meat.
