Meanwhile it's in the 40s here in Vermont (upper 50s yesterday), and still no snow. Ski areas can't even make snow to open. There are buds on my lilac and forsythia bushes. And my sister-in-law up in Maine found strawberries still growing under some leaves in her garden.

damn global warming!
My only complaint was that if they need to charge me $30 because they're robbing the duck to pay the boar they might as well give me a more substantial portion of flour, water, and bits of meat.

It's pretty now. Snow covering everything. They've let school out in anticipation of freezing rain and sleet icing over all the roads as the temperature drops later this afternoon.
And that's not fun.
But for now, it's cute. Cream of Wheat Weather in Houston. Watching these South Texas kids building snowmen and throwing snowballs and otherwise enjoying this rare snowfall, I can't help but smile.

Any suggestions on a robust shrimp dish for dinner on a cold, snowy Houston evening at home??

Hard to beat Jambalaya.
I'll bet you make a good one.
And it is great that it's snowing in Houston on December 4th, the "earliest on record," as you said.
I'll bet that means our Houston ski hills will open early!
