I made it over to the beaches of south Walton County today from PC. Have a great condo unit at Gulf Place, I am in #4B of 6 Palms at Gulf Place almost right across the street from what we used to call the "Flashing Light State Park" but is now a fancy place. We used to have beach bonfires there in the mid-80s. Not any more.
My first meal here was at Jambone. It was okay, but the bbq was not as rockin as it should of been for the prices. I know they are using organic meats and all but it needs to be better than that. The beans were really good so was the greens. The cole slaw was terrible. The Alabama white sauce didn't do anything for me.
Then dinner was at my friend Vicki's gourmet kitchen store Kitchenique, for a cooking class by Chef Dan Pettis. It was a fun evening although I did leave a tad hungry.
Plans for tomorrow are to have breakfast with Lisa at The Hibiscus Guest House in Grayton Beach. Lunch will be at Red Bay Grocery Sounds like a fun place <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0blGplZ0HEQ&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0blGplZ0HEQ&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

This Red Bay Grocery place sounds like someplace that Jaymes needs to go, fly in quick and I will treat.

Before starting the long trek home I am going to head over to Cafe Bouchee for breakfast this morning. I used to work with John a very long time ago when I lived here. We were both much younger then. In the meantime, here is a chocolate cake recipe for you.

The Red Bay Grocery does look terrific. Would that I could "fly in quick." Such a life would be most grand.
But maybe I will trek over there for a weekend road trip sometime. I love weekend road trips.
Ever notice that "what the hell" is always the right decision?
