Herbs Need Some Help

My basis is not a deep shade of green. More greenish-yellow. I don't see aphids, but I do see little white flying bugs. You can kind of see it here:

(The basil looks much greener here than in the real world.)

My mint has scales on them:

Don't know about your basil situation, but it looks like your mint has mint rust. Dig it up and throw it out. Start over somewhere else far away from the original infestation.

The yellowish green is usually a sign of too little nitrogen. All the rain this season is really leaching nutrients out of the soil. Your basil probably needs a little fertilizer. The little white flying bugs are probably white fly, another symptom of overwatering (courtesy of M. Nature in this case). Not sure what to do about those.

Basil will get kind of yellow/white streaks after a lot of rain. Here in Florida - I try to pick our first large crop (for pesto and the like) before the rainy season starts in late June. The color shouldn't affect the flavor though (although the leaves might not look so swell on something like a caprese). Robyn
