“One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh, no!', I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.”

I do not have one. But, I do have two seperate friends who purchased them to get in shape. I must say, if they are any indication, it works as advertised.

ETA: They were both very motivated by personal circumstances to get in shape.

I have tried Wii Fit and I think it is fun. I don't think it is the best way to get in shape.
Why yes, I do have a rock climbing blog! Climb and Punishment

My friends who have used Wii Fit no longer use it. They said it was fun at first, but then it got tiresome. They got called obese a lot, and they're not even that big (do the newer versions still do that?). Who wants to get called obese? (I was once called corpulent by a body fat analyzer thing, and I'm really not that big! OK, I have a high percentage of body fat, but I really don't look much bigger than chubby. . . I think. . . )

I guess it depends on what kind of exerciser you are. If you think you'll actually do it, then go for it. For me, it won't do anything but gather dust--just like my DynaBands, exercise ball, ashtanga dvds, etc. I can't exercise at home.

Gold's Gym is supposed to be good, as is Boxing. And the one that Jillian Michaels did. And My Fitness Coach.

My old gym had one. Believe it or not (and since you don't really know me, it might not be as difficult to believe), I used their DVR set most often - Dance Video Revolution. Great workout, terrible music running over and over in my brain. I guess that isn't Wii. I also likes the boxing game and having your arms up really makes you work hard. Tennis was just kind of fun. Bowling was boring, and golf, yawn. They didn't have the more personalized workout stuff that you may be talking about.

Jack's babysitter loves her Wii fit. The running program is a real motivator for her: it sort of shames you into working harder. But she also recommends the Wii yoga. Shame doesn't work for me, so that's not a plus in my book.
“And another thing. You don't have to "move on" either. Not until you're ready. People say, Oh, you should be grateful. They say, Oh, it's time for you to move on. I'm like, What are you, a cop with a nightstick? I'll move on when I'm done playing the blues on my harmonica, thank you very much.

Really, people will tell you all kinds of garbage. Don't believe it.

You don't have to move on until you're ready.”

i make the psychological error that shame is equivalent to exercise and so is sufficient.

It only works for me if a real person other than myself is doing the shaming. I think Wii works well for people who have the motivation to exercise at home, and for whom outside influences are motivating. It probably works best for E's rather than I's. smile.gif rolleyes.gif

I dont have wii fit but, we play it on special occasions over here. Basically, whenever Miss A goes away on business, Miss K and I play from the second I get home from work till an hour past her bedtime..

The two of us are band from playing any other time though, we can convince the boss to all play a bowling game every so often.

Super Paper Mario Brothers is an awesome game that is almost better than the first.

Rampage, is a lot of fun, plus you can make farting sounds on the screen while the new cities are loading...

We just purchased this game from Bolt which is a really fun game. Plus she loves movie.

But the best game I have play so far is the Super Paper Mario Bros.
Ason, I keep planets in orbit.
