Taking a motorcycle trip from NJ with dad....going to a motorcycle event but staying in a no-name 1 horse town called Cheraw, SC right under the NC border.

Anything around there recommended? I've been a few times for some Rally Races, but we are going to have some time to take maybe an hour ride or so for maybe some good BBQ.

We'll be in motorcycle boots, so, road food preferred.

We are straight shooting it 95 unfortunately most of the way.

If Charlotte isn't too far to go, this place might fit with your theme... (not a personal recommendation; my only real Charlotte barbecue experience is too long ago to count. I did have takeout barbecue on my birthday in Tega Cay, SC in 2007 but it was terrible - and wasn't from that place).

Cheraw has a beautiful state park. You will also be near the original bottling plant of Blenheim Ginger Ale. Be sure to try both the regular, "not so hot" variety (which is pretty potent) and the Old #3 Hot variety, which will clear your sinuses faster than snorting wasabi. Oh, be sure and stop at Pedro's South of the Border right near the NC/SC line. "Tacky" doesn't even come close, but it's a blast.
