which are your favorites and why?
i went with streits this year because they're just made with coconut, eggwhites and sugar.
“One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh, no!', I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.”

I loathe all varieties of coconut macaroons. I prefer the almond ones. Actually, my favorite Passover sweets are my mother's sponge cake, matzo crunch, good dark chocolate, and the K for P cupcakes Crumbs has.
It's always something.

Ah, splinky...you bring back memories. In the 50s, my grandmother (Mother's mother) always sent us care packages of Manischewitz hard raspberry candies and canned macaroons every year at Passover. I loved the macaroons, loved them with a passion. Haven't thought of them for years.

I didn't know till this moment that there were non-coconut macaroons. Apparently there are, though it may depend on which country you're in when you're considering the issue.

I used to like them, & coconut in general, more than I do now. Still have good memories when I think of them.

I like the chocolate covered ones that come in a tray. The canned ones never appealed to me. (actually, I frequently make my own for Passover)

Last year I got them at Shop-Rite in Englewood. I rationed them and refused to share. laugh.gif

Every time I look at the index I think this thread is about canned macaroni.

perhaps, you should start a macaroni thread since it seems to weigh heavy on your mind

Well, yeah, now that I'm eating less of it than I used to, I guess I'm kind of obsessing. I had some leftover spaghetti the other day, just regular spaghetti, and it was sooooooooooooo good. blush.gif
