The restaurant critic dishes on his favorite restaurants, with Galatoire's Emeril's Delmonico, and Restaurant del Portio (501 East Boston St. 985.875.1006 Dinner entrees $16 to $29 ) heading his list.

The special section also includes his faves for raw bars, po'boys, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and FOH staff.

My only complaint was that if they need to charge me $30 because they're robbing the duck to pay the boar they might as well give me a more substantial portion of flour, water, and bits of meat.

I had the great pleasure of hearing Brett do a presentation at the IACP conference, and talking with him after, in a more casual setting. He's great! If he recommends a place, I would be there in a flash. As it happens, I've eaten at five of his top ten (three of them this year), and hope to hit the others.

Thanks for the links RP. I will be down to New Orleans the weekend before Thanksgiving. I am going for a party at Galatoires but I do have a few other places to check out. I read of a couple of new places to dine at. It looks like it might be a weekend of first lunch/second lunches, take a nap then head to dinner with the possibility of a late night snack.
