I had a great meal at McCrady's...

full disclosure..I had contacted the restaurant a week or so in advance and they knew I was affiliated with another food board..doubt that affected the food but we were treated very well.
There's a great bbq place about 1/2 hour NW of Charleston..Bub Sweatman's..only open Fri, Sat.

eta...Charleston has a beautiful historic district (where McCrady's is)..and it's worth allowing yourself some time to wander around..very walkable.

My only complaint was that if they need to charge me $30 because they're robbing the duck to pay the boar they might as well give me a more substantial portion of flour, water, and bits of meat.

we spent a week at the kiawah island. one night the family had dinner at the restaurant inside The Sanctuary hotel. one of the most beautiful hotels i have seen. the service was decadent and the food was quit delicious.
39 Rue De Jean in charleston was very nice too, a bistro. i ordered the short rib in my quest to find another recipe as tasty as the one that cafe gray (NYC) served. unmatched still. too bad they closed.
