I've been gardening at my mothers' house,only 20 miles north of Manhattan.I've been finding many plants,with the tops missing,and watched happy bunnies in the garden,munching away at my hard work.Part of me likes this,but ...any Kind tips for keeping them away?

My dad used to swear by the effectiveness of cougar urine. Of course, collecting it has always proven a bit of a problem...

Scarecrows work for rabbits, but only if it is not left in one place for a long period of time.
Another option is get a couple of teenage boys with .22's.

Neighborhood cats make short work of rabbits. Several of our neighbors allow their cats to roam at night, which has minimized the rabbit, chipmunk, mouse population...
My only complaint was that if they need to charge me $30 because they're robbing the duck to pay the boar they might as well give me a more substantial portion of flour, water, and bits of meat.

Spray the entire garden with a mixture of malathion and sodium cyanide. Teach the bastards a lesson they won't soon forget.

How about my tried and true method of keeping squirrels away: cayenne pepper. And along the lines of Miss J's cougar urine, I've used dried fox urine. God love the internet, where you can buy anything!
It is better to have beans and bacon in peace than cakes and ale in fear.

Abby, I had no idea you could buy dried foxes' urine online. I MUST tell my dad immediately.
This would also explain why I'm not seeing any rabbits in my South London garden. The whole of this side of the Thames is crawling with urban foxes. My poor little cat doesn't know what to make of them.
