Looking for a place to host a celebratory dinner for a group of family and friends (10 - 12 of us) next June. Only drawback is that it's on a Sunday night, so many places will be closed (e.g. Hisop). Any suggestions for places I can try? Many thanks in advance.

In the absence of other suggestions, Set Portes is certainly open everyday. It is traditional Catalunyan cuisine, rather than anything modern, but it would be fun for a party. I apologize if it's too obvious.

If the author could go around the place hitting random readers with a rubber hammer, the Pink Pig would still be worth a visit.

No apologies, necessary, Wilf, I appreciate the suggestion. 7 Portes actually looks like it would fit the bill nicely. Hopefully, I'll be able to come up with a few other choices for a Sunday night. Hisop and Cinc Sentits are both closed, as I suspect for Gaig and Comerc 24 as well.

I think the Tragaluz and other restaurants of that owner (in the Omm hotel) are open on Sunday. Reliable food and the waiters are not rude to you which is good for Barcelona.

This is good info for me -- I arrive in Barcelona on a Sunday evening and will be looking for a first night's meal...
