A perfect excuse to do more staring at the ceiling, and the screen etc etc as well as developing your chef d'oeuvre (AS) yet further. One of the world's ironies that something like that can't earn you tenure.

The mirror on the driver's side of my car fell out today. Just the glass--which is now about 50 pieces of glass at the entrance to our street. Just a piece of glass about 3" x 6".

I had the same experience whilst getting measured for wedding dress scaffolding. Amazing, isn't it? I've been evangelical about getting properly measured ever since.

Had my credit card declined in New York on Saturday. Very very very very very angry. Four phone calls today have the store, the store's authorizing company, Mastercard and MBNA all denying it's their fault and passing the buck to one another. They will not succeed because
one of them has screwed up, and has made me very very very very angry. The amount of compensation that I have in mind is increasing hourly

My negative experiences with Louboutins have been limited to spike heels breaking. However, if you bought the shoes in a major department store, I would return them no matter when you bought them. Shoes at that price point simply should not turn green, or break when you actually attempt to walk a few steps in them.

Speaking of "I made a doody," this ties in with the latest famous blog story du jour:
"Laura K. Pahl is a plagiarist."And it is annoying, but it probably deserves a new thread. Did Nate do the right thing to bust this girl's chops so thoroughly? She is an idiot who probably bought her way onto the Dean's List like a certain person in the Very White House bought his grades at Harvard.
But Nate's ego seems way out of proportion to the crime.
Look for "I made a doody." That made me laugh.

As a reformed university instructor, I think that Nate did the exact right thing.
This girl needs to be booted from school.
Unfortunately, where I taught you had to jump through so many hoops to get students disciplined for plagarism that I gave up and just started giving them zeroes.

I've been deposed twice. I'd rather go for a root canal than be deposed again. I'm sure your lawyers will prep you, but the most important words to remember are "yes", "no", and "I have no recollection/I don't remember."
First deposition, I wore a suit. Second, I went business casual -- and was better dressed than my counsel.

You might surprise them if you can truthfully testify that you haven't had anything (alcoholic) to drink for more than 24 hours prior to the depo (arguably this could affect memory, but also gives them a chance to see if you will admit you're a lush).

I hate that Word paperclip that jumps out of the corner of the screen and says: "It looks like you're writing a letter! Would you: A). Like help with the letter, B). Like to start typing the letter right away without help, or C). Like me to fuck off?"
Today's annoyance was the reach-in coolers at my station giving out--actually that happened yesterday. Today's annoyance was the maintenance guys coming in to fix and clean the coolers, but when they did that, they blew this nasty vent dust all over the place. It was all over my squeeze bottles and in everything. Like cat hair. Good thing we were slow and I could spend the hour it took to clean up.
